How to implement your Ruler Script via GTM

All Ruler scripts can be added as a 'Custom HTML' using Google Tag Manager, including your Main Ruler Javascript.

In your tag manager account, select “Add New Tag”

You then want to select to ‘choose a tag type’ and then from the drop down list select ‘Custom HTML’

Under Tag Configuration, Paste your Ruler Analytics JavaScript. You can find your unique script in your Ruler Analytics account here.

Ensure you set the Tag Firing options to once per page. This will ensure Ruler captures data across your whole website.

Then under ‘Triggering’ select ‘All Pages’ from the available list.

Custom Triggers

Feel free to utilise any of your own custom triggers you may use for other scripts as part of your setup. The guide is a basic setup example but Rulers tag should work with any custom triggers you may use within your GTM to fire your tags based on certain conditions. As long as Rulers Tag is added, and fired on site your tracking should not be impacted.
