Attribution Overview

Attribution modelling is a set of rules that determines how your analytics tool applies credit for clicks, conversions and sales.

Rulers multi touch attribution allows marketers to take a holistic view of their advertising efforts and evaluate which keywords, ads and landing pages drive the most value.

How does Ruler determine attribution to a Marketing Source?

Ruler has a set of pre built attribution Rules for the common core marketing channels such as Google Paid, Facebook Paid and so on.

Attribution is decided by various values including referrer URLs, referrer hosts, UTMs and URL parameters. Please see our guidance on our URL tagging recommendations for correct attribution reporting within Ruler.

Can I set my own attribution rules?

For our core channel reporting you cannot update the logic for attribution however, you can create custom sources and add custom Ruler parameters to allow you to attribute your clicks correctly.
