Calendly - Thank you Page Tracking

If you're unable to add a script that passes values into Calendly, we recommend setting up Ruler tracking on a redirected thank-you page instead. This lets us capture the details submitted during booking, such as name and email, directly from the thank-you page URL and send them to Ruler as a conversion.

There are three steps:

  • Set up the thank-you redirect in Calendly
  • Enable Calendly to pass the booking details into the redirect URL
  • Add Ruler's conversion tracking to the thank-you page

1 - Set up the thank-you redirect

Calendly calls this a custom confirmation page redirect. It replaces Calendly's default confirmation screen with your own thank-you page.

  • Open the event type you want to track (e.g. "30 Minute Meeting") and click to edit it.
  • Scroll to the Confirmation Page section. Depending on your Calendly version, this may sit under "Notifications and Workflows" or within the main event setup.
  • Select "Redirect to an external site" instead of the default Calendly confirmation.
Paste in your thank-you page URL, for example:
    https://yoursite.com/thank-you

2 - Pass the booking details into the redirect URL

Directly beneath the redirect URL field, Calendly provides a checkbox:

"Pass event details to your redirected page"

Tick this box. When enabled, Calendly automatically adds the booking details to your thank-you URL as parameters when someone completes a booking, for example:

https://yoursite.com/thank-you?invitee_full_name=John%20Doe&[email protected]&event_type_name=30%20Minute%20Meeting

These parameters are added by Calendly automatically - you don't need to build the URL yourself.

3 - Add Ruler's conversion tracking

Once your redirect is in place and passing the booking details, add Ruler's URL conversion script to your thank-you page. This reads the parameter values from the page URL and sends them to Ruler as a conversion, capturing the submitted name, email, and any other details.

For setup instructions, please see the Ruler documentation here.
