Tracking Wix Form Submissions in Ruler
There are two main methods for tracking Wix form submissions.
- On the page as the form is submitted - tracking fires the moment the visitor clicks Submit.
- On the thank you page - tracking fires after the form has been validated and successfully captured, once the visitor lands on a confirmation page.
See our guides below to choose the best method for your website setup and tracking requirements.
Which method is right for me?
| If your form... | Best method | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Stays on the same page after submitting (no redirect) | Method 1 – On submit | There's no separate confirmation page to track on, so tracking fires at the point of submission. |
| Redirects visitors to a "thank you" or confirmation page | Method 2 – Thank you page | Tracking only fires on a genuinely successful submission, so your numbers are cleaner. |
| Needs Ruler's numbers to match your inbox exactly | Method 2 – Thank you page | Method 1 fires on the Submit click, so it can also record incomplete or failed attempts. |
| You're not sure / want the simplest setup | Method 1 – On submit | It's quicker to set up and works even if your form doesn't redirect anywhere. |
NOTEThe most important thing with either method is that your form captures an email address or phone number. This is how Ruler matches a submission back to a real customer and attributes revenue. Email is the priority identifier.
